The crap always hits the fan at some point.

I anticipated some bumps in the road after such an amazing experience at Salt, but after only a week and a half, it's not so much bumps in the road, but it seems as if the road doesn't even exist. In conversing with many of you since we got back from Rochester, I've noticed a most precarious trend of bullcrap hitting our own en masse. And this morning, I got a phone call from my father informing me that my grandmother is in very serious condition in the hospital and, as I type, is awaiting emergency surgery that she may or may not make it through. Coupled with the continued conspicuous silence from Chi Alpha's national office regarding my future, I'm one frustrated cat under pressure.

Kids, I'm not stupid enough to say that this is all merely coincidence, and it would be equally foolish to say that these are all spiritual countermeasures to what happened at Salt. People within our own ranks are hurting, things have happened around us that have shaken us. Now is not the time for self-pity or self-loathing, let us grieve and endure with grace and the comfort of the Spirit. Now is the time for loving each other, supporting one another, bearing one another's burdens, pursuing Christ more than ever before, with clenched teeth, tears and burning eyes. Some of this is spiritual, some of it is bad timing. In all of it, let us come together like never before. Let our persistence and passion in this time serve as a witness to the faith we share and hold onto, in good times and bad.

I love you all very much and every one of you have my prayers and concern. You all have my contact info if you need an ear and heart to share your struggles and pain.

Salt Info

If you haven't gotten the e-mail from Brent here's the gist: if you want to be part of the caravan/convoy from Point meet in front of Debot at 11AM this Friday the 13th. Otherwise if Point is out of your way you can also meet up in La Crosse around 1PM at the Dresbach rest area off the Interstate (technically it's in Minnesota right after La Crosse). It's prolly a good idea to get a hold of Brent to let someone know that you are coming so we don't leave without ya. Or you can tell me. Can't wait to see everyone Friday!
