Help Wanted [again]
Hey everybody, we need to fill office hours in the XA office (029 UC). Seven hours/week is all we need, so if you can pitch in an hour or two, we'd really appreciate it! Thanks!
Also, if you can take some time away from life to pray for Chi Alpha and what God wants to do on campus this year, I'd strongly encourage you to do so. We can't move forward without God to do God's thing first.
I love y'all. Have a great day!

Volunteers needed!
Good morning, Chi Alphans! An opportunity for you to consider...
ACT is sponsoring a UWSP blood drive, and XA has offered our help with the Canteen (that is, the food/drink/generally making people feel comfortable while they help save lives by getting stuck and drained.) We would love it if you would donate some of your time to serve another organization and help promote XA in the meantime!
General information:
26, 27 September
9-4.30, UC Laird Room
Three volunteers needed per hour
You pick the times you can help out (Seriously, what's better than that?)
Be sure to let me know if you can help, and we'll sign you up. Thanks!

Help Wanted
Hi kids! Your local friendly XA president here with a few housekeeping notes...
- XA Large Group Meetings WILL be in 073 DeBot right off the bat this semester. I've been speaking with our very special friends in Center Reservations for the past two days and they assured me 073 will be ready in time for Sunday. We should be good to go...*should be*... So, 7.07 Sunday Night in 073. Bring friends, bring yourself!
- XA is in need of a new Treasurer. Our erstwhile Squirrel is exactly that, effective upon graduation. So we need a leader with a title who can help us out on the organizational level. Let Lars or myself know soon!
- Every academic year, each student organization is required to attend Rerecognition, a boring but nonetheless mandatory two hours of sitting through legal and practical stuff for student organizations. The President is supposed to attend, and I have full intentions of doing so, but being that this is my final semester as a student, it would be wise to have a XA delegate (or a few, if people are so inclined) come along to see what we have to do and be to maintain good standing with the U. If you're at all interested in leadership on an organizational level or just want to be a good XA citizen, let me know.
- We need to find a time for XA prayer as well. While I hope that all y'all and myself are in prayer for our little network of students on your/my own, there is something dynamic about our prayer times together. XA doesn't exist without people sacrificing time to come together and seek God, and now more than ever, we need wisdom and guidance if we are to effectively reach students in a real and transformative way. Plus, our prayer times can be ridiculously fun, too. Everyone is welcome.
- XA is in need of a constitutional revision to maintain SIEO requirements (once every three years.) We'll be talking more about this soon.
SMALL GROUP LEADERS: drop a comment with your times and places. Along with Lars' Athlete Bible Study/Q & A, Seth and CJ's Pray group [men] and a Burroughs Bible Study [ladies], I will be leading a study of more Christian Mystics and other fun Unorthodox figures in Church history [men]. There is also possibility of doing a small-scale Christian Growth Seminar (CGS), if there is enough interest. CGS is a crash-course in the basics of the Christian faith (and a little about XA) that went over quite well two Springs ago. Let me know if you're [anybody] interested.
I think that's about it for now, and most of you are probably in complete agreement and have been for several lines now. Happy Thursday, the first weekend draws nigh!
Watch out for the applesauce baptisms...

Start of a new year
Hello UWSP.
Good to see you all and thank you all for coming by the blogspot for your local Chi Alpha-Students for Christ. I wanted to give you all an update as to the events upcoming this first couple weeks of school here at UWSP.
Sunday Night Service: For all those that want/need to sleep in Sundays, we have moved our weekly inter-denominational meeting to Sunday Nights at 7:07pm. Location currently is scheduled for Debot 073, but with recent renovations, that may be subject to change.
JOINT BLOCK PARTY: Sat. Sept. 17th, we are joining with IVCF for a block party. Food, Keg of Point's finest, Bonfire, all in all enjoyment. Should be a great time to get off campus and be social.
Annual Pizza Night: Returning for it's 4th year is the XA Pizza Night. Sun. Sept. 18th. All pizza is free at that evening service.
Small Groups: Several small groups are firing up right away. I know of a men's study in Pray Sims starting next week, a women's study in the works in Burroughs Hall, and an athlete study in the HEC. All starting next week.
There's the info as we know it. Keep checking in every day or two for more info, devotional thoughts, and to connect virtually with folks from UWSP.
